Force Transduction & Emerging Ion Channels

The meeting is entitled "Force transduction and emerging ion channels" and will be the latest in a highly successful and well attended series of Spring Meetings hosted by the Max-Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC). A central theme of the meeting is force gated ion channels which participate in important senses such as hearing, touch and pain and indeed the invited speakers are world experts in these fields. However, the  relevance of force transduction is even broader being relevant to cardiovascular disease and fundamental processes in micro-organsisms.
