On April 14, 2015, Multi Channel Systems together with the Natural and Medical Sciences Institute (NMI) held a workshop on the new CMOS-MEA5000-System. Interested researchers from all over Europe came to Reutlingen to learn about the CMOS-technology and its capabilities and to see live experiments in the labs of the NMI. In the morning, Günther Zeck, group leader of the Neurochip research group at the NMI, presented the CMOS-technology, how it has developped in the past, and explained, what is possible today.

Our two-day workshop this week was a full success. 19 participants from all over Europe visited us here in Reutlingen to learn more about neuronal applications on microelectrode arrays. The workshop began on Tuesday morning with introduction sessions in MEA technology for beginners and in Matlab analysis for more advanced users. After a typical swabian lunch and a tour though the MCS building, the participants continued to the laboratories of the NMI (Natural and Medical Sciences Institute), where they learned how to prepare and record
