MCS Microelectrode Array Workshop on Neuronal Applications

The second MCS Workshop focused on Neuronal Applications. 19 scientists from universities and pharmaceutical companies joined in Reutlingen and spend a whole day listening to lectures and doing hand-on experiments in the labs of the NMI. The participants could choose their area of interest and concentrated on brain slices or neuronal cultures respectively during the lab visits.

In the afternoon, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Egert from the Bernstein Center Freiburg, held the keynote lecture on "Neuronal Activity Dynamics – from Dendrites to Networks". The workshop ended with a get-together at Multi Channel Systems, with a tour through the building and delicious dinner.

Summarizing, it was a successful day for both the scientific learning as well as the networking and getting to know new research fellows. We are looking forward to the next workshop!
