MCS Workshop 2017: Electrophysiological Tools to Study iPS Derived Neurons and Cardiomyocytes

High Content and High Throughput Assays to Cover all Needs from Screening to Disease Modeling

In advance of the ISSCR we offer an one-day in vitro workshop on using the newest microelectrode array technologies in the field of electrophysiological stem cell research.

Date: June 13th, 2017
Location: Harvard University
School of Engineering and Applied Science
Room 330
60 Oxford Street
Cambridge 02138, MA, USA

Abstract:

iPS technology enabled scientists to model healthy human cells and create cells mimicking the diseases of their donors. To characterize the phenotype of neurons and cardiomyocytes electrophysiological assays are just inevitable. Here we will present groundbreaking research from cell manufacturers and scientists as well as the tools for high throughput assays based on neurons and cardiomyocytes. However we will also present high-resolution electrophysiological tools (CMOS & micro electrode array technology) to access information from up to 4000 sensors simultaneously.

The workshop will cover scientific sessions in the morning followed by hands-on lab sessions in the afternoon.
